How to Transfer a Waggoner CCVT License Between Windows PCs
This article explains how to remove (deactivate) a Waggoner CCVT license from an existing Windows computer and install and activate it on a new Windows computer. It includes download, installation, and activation steps, along with supported transfer constraints and common troubleshooting actions.
Supported Transfers
- License transfers are supported between Windows systems only
- Transferring a license from Windows to Apple (macOS) is not supported
Before You Begin
- Ensure you have your license code available
- During deactivation, copy and save the license key (e.g., in Notepad) for reuse on the new device
- Ensure access to your registered email account
- If needed, on-call support is available to guide you through the transfer process
Prerequisites
- Active Waggoner CCVT license
- Access to the registered email account
- Security password for the application
- Internet connection on both devices
Step 1: Deactivate License on the Original Computer
- Open the Application
Launch the Waggoner CCVT application on your current device. - Go to Settings
- Click Settings on the right-hand side
- Enter your security password when prompted
- Access Licensing Section
- Navigate to Account → Licensing
- Note your license key for later use
- Click Deactivate WCCVT
- Verify Deactivation
- Enter your password and click Verify Password

On the confirmation screen, type the following exactly:
Waggoner-Diagnostics-(Your Name) - Click Verify
- Completion
- The application will log you out
- The license is now available for use on another device
Important Notes
- License deactivation is limited (e.g., 2 times per year)
- Only deactivate when switching devices or discontinuing use
Step 2: Install Waggoner CCVT on the New Computer
- Open a web browser and go to:
www.waggonerdiagnostics.com - Click "Download Trial" to open the Windows CCVT installer (.exe file)
- Run the installer:
- Double-click the downloaded file
- Click Yes if prompted
- Follow the installation wizard:
- Select installation location (or use default)
- Click Install → Finish
Step 3: Activate License on the New Computer
- Launch the Application
- Sign In with Email
- Enter your registered email
- Click Get Started
- Enter the 6-digit verification code sent to your email
(Check Spam/Junk folder if needed)
- Alternative Activation Method
- Click Activate another way
- Enter your license key
- Select and Activate License
- Choose your available license
- Click Activate
- Complete Device Setup
- Enter a device name
- Create a password
- (Optional) Add an alternate email
- Click Submit
- Confirmation
- You will see: “Your activation was successful!”
- Click Continue to begin using the application

- If uninstalling or deactivating the license on the original computer fails (e.g., application is unresponsive), support can remotely deactivate the license so you can proceed on the new device
